Granite: Granite is one of the hardest natural substrates surpassed only by diamonds and rubies. It is excellent for etching images for entry ways counter tops and plaques for your businesses or your own home. Because it is so hard the images etched on it can last for centuries.
Marble: Marble occurs in many natural colors ranging from white to black including yellow, red, and green, and frequently beautifully veined or clouded. It is an ideal surface to etch portraits, family photos and other keepsakes. Because it is not as strong as granite, marble etches very nicely.
Glass: A unique material for back lighting in entry ways, decorative panels and mirrors. When using darkened glass or one way or two way mirrors, an amazingly lifelike image can be achieved. Some of our favorites are deer scenes in kitchen cabinets.
Wood: Offers a number of options for etching images from soft to very hard surfaces. Another great material for plaques, portraits and labels even picture frames. However, due to its inconsistency, even within the same species, the image looks better if the piece is made from the same board.
Solid surface material: Typically used as counter tops, shelves and shower surrounds, this material can be etched with unique images to show your special touch.
Acrylic: A glasslike thermoplastic. Can be used in place of glass in many cases without being as fragile as glass. Great for trophies and appreciation plaques.
